I’m Edgar de Rijk, based in Enkhuizen the Netherlands, and a long-time passionate photographer with a creative eye, fully specialised in motorsport photography.
As a photographer, I deliver high-quality, authentic work within the required timeframe and is it not just about capturing sharp action shots, but about telling the story behind the sport itself and focusing on the moments that resonate most with sponsors and fans.
Through digital photography, I aim to create images that capture the intensity and dynamics of motorsport. Motion blur, darkness, practical lighting and changing weather conditions all play an important role in my work.
Alongside digital photography, I also shoot extensively on film. It makes me more conscious and slows down my process, encouraging me to look beyond the action and focus on atmosphere, timing and detail.
In a world where motorsport photography often revolves around speed and instant content, analogue photography gives me the space to document the sport in a more human and authentic way. The grain, imperfections and natural colours of film enhance the emotion and character of the racing world.
